Talk & Vision, 100% daughter of KPN, will be able to deliver the Lync Room System of vendor Polycom to customers later this year, discussions with a second vendor (out of a total of three Microsoft selected vendors) are underway.
Microsoft has announced the Lync Room System (LRS) earlier. LRS systems extend the Lync meeting experience into the boardroom, replicating a familiar scheduling, start/join, and meeting management experience for the end user.
While much of the initial discussion around LRS systems focuses on a video experience, Microsoft’s intention is to deliver a Lync meeting experience into the conference room setting – with equal focus on audio, video and content-based collaboration. Microsoft says: “if you can use Lync, you can use a Lync Room System”. The LRS development is more focused on ease-of-use and intuitive collaboration than group video.
LRS rooms are compatible with Lync 2010 and Lync 2013 environments. Talk & Vision has great experience in the conference room with its videoconferencing portfolio and also the audiovisual integration in the (board)room can be addressed.
